Promoting Summer and Winter Session Classes

Recommendations from faculty and advisors play a crucial role in students’ decisions to enroll in Summer and Winter Session Classes

Here are some suggestions about ways in which you can help get the word out to students and others:

• Announce your summer and winter classes during your Fall and Spring classes.
• Post Summer Session and Winter Session posters, and/or fliers describing the classes you will be teaching, in your office or classroom.
• Suggest new locations for catalog distribution on campus or in the community.
• If you have your own website, newsletter or blog, add a few lines about summer or winter classes, and include a link to the CPE website (www.UMassULearn.net)  
• Hand out Summer Session or Winter Session bookmarks and promotional items.
• Send an e-mail message to students suggesting they consider enrolling in summer or winter classes;  be sure to include the UMass Amherst Continuing & Professional Education website link:  www.UMassULearn.net
• Contact Program Coordinators at CPE if you need additional promotional materials.
