Worcester Campus Master of Public Health Program SCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH AND HEALTH SCIENCES
A Master of Public Health (MPH) degree is offered at the UMass Medical School in Worcester as part of the degree program of the UMass Amherst School of Public Health and Health Sciences. This program offers experienced health workers a course of study that leads to a terminal professional degree. Qualified professionals can expand their knowledge base in public health, broaden their perspective of public health problems, and prepare to assume greater responsibility in their chosen profession. The Worcester campus program offers all the core courses necessary for the degree along with a variety of electives. Classes are scheduled in the early evening to accommodate working students. A total of 42 credits are necessary to complete the program, 6 of which can be earned by completing a supervised MPH project. The application deadlines to be a matriculated student are Oct. 1 and Feb. 1. Applications can be obtained at the umass.edu Web site under the Graduate Admissions section or by calling the UMass Amherst Graduate Admissions office at 413-545-0722. All classes are held at the UMass Medical School in Worcester from 5 to 7:30 p.m. The cost of courses is $400 per credit.
