*Nursing Challenge Exams and Achievement Tests
The National League for Nursing ACE II exams are standardized tests that evaluate previous learning and work experience. They are designed to make it easier for working RNs with associate’s degrees or diplomas to earn their BS. Passing the ACE II enables students to earn UMass Amherst residence credits.
The exam is given 6 times each year: June, August, October, November, December, and January. You must register 3 weeks prior to the testing session. In order for the testing session to be held, a minimum number of examinees must register. Credits for successful completion of the exam will be awarded once you are enrolled in the RN to BS in Nursing program. The 45th percentile is considered a passing score on the ACE exams.

Achievement tests in anatomy and physiology, microbiology, normal nutrition, and pharmacology can also be used to meet prerequisites in the RN to BS in Nursing program and for the Second Bachelor’s in Nursing program.
