Starting May 5, Continuing & Professional Education is piloting the use of SPIRE self-enrollment for summer registration. As this is a pilot, self-enrollment will be limited to matriculated students in campus based programs that meet certain criteria.
To see if you are part of the pilot group and can use SPIRE self-enrollment for your class registrations, go to the CPE Enroll Appointment page under the Enrollment section in your Student Center. Use Summer 2008 in the Term Search field and then click on the ‘Request CPE Enrollment Appointment’ button at the bottom of the page. If you meet the criteria of the pilot group you will be given an enrollment appointment and can then use the same process for adding and dropping classes that you use for university-scheduled classes.
Please be aware that CPE classes are not included in your tuition. The class fees and registration fee are an additional charge. The notes section in the class listings in SPIRE lists the per credit fee for the class plus there is a $45/term non-refundable registration fee.
Waivers will not be honored for CPE classes added via SPIRE self-enrollment. Your authorized waiver form must accompany your registration. Waivers will not be honored retroactively. For more information. CPE’s Refund Schedule is different from University-scheduled classes. Check the Refund Policy before registering for CPE classes in SPIRE. If you drop a class after the 100% refund period you will not be credited for the full cost of the class even if you add a different class or a different section of the same class. Students who register for CPE classes through SPIRE will have billing and payment handled through the university Bursar office. For more information go to the Bursar web site.
Some CPE classes are restricted. If you get an error registering for a class that you think you should be able to enroll in, please contact the Continuing & Professional Education Registration Office for assistance in enrolling –
