On-Campus Housing Information for Continuing & Professional Education Students

Summer 2008

Housing is readily available for students enrolling in Continuing & Professional Education classes for the Summer 2008 term. To be housed, Continuing & Professional Education students must be registered for at least one class and have a valid UCard (the UMass Amherst ID).

Summer housing applicants must be either 18 years old (or older) OR a current or prospective matriculated undergraduate either at UMass or another institution.

Summer Sessions I and II

For Summer Session I the residence hall opens for check in on Sunday, June 1 from 7-11pm. Room keys are available in the lobby from the hall staff member on duty. Summer Session I concludes on Thursday, July 10 and check out is required by 11pm. No Summer Session I resident will be allowed to remain after 11pm Thursday, July 10, unless full payment has been received for Summer Session II. The fee for a shared room is $728.00.
The fee for a private room is $898.90.
To reserve a space, full payment is required by Friday, May 9, 2008.

For Summer Session II the residence hall opens for check in on Sunday, July 13 from 7-11pm. Room keys are available in the lobby from the hall staff member on duty. Summer Session II concludes on Wednesday, August 20 and check out is required by 11pm. No Summer Session II student will be allowed to remain after 11pm on Wednesday, August 20.
The fee for a shared room is $709.80.
The fee for a private room is $876.40.
To reserve a space, full payment is required by Friday, June 27, 2008.

Telephone and ethernet service are mandatory requirements for Summer Session residents. The telephone and ethernet activation fee is $40 per Summer Session. The Telephone and Ethernet Service Activation Request Form will be included when you download the Housing Application. Students must supply their own telephone.

Each resident should expect their room to be equipped with a single bed (mattress and frame), desk and chair, bookcase, small table, and a wastebasket. No pets (including birds, rodents, or insects) are allowed. Students must bring their own linens.

Visit the Housing and Residence Life website www.housing.umass.edu News and Information box to download the Housing Application. Full payment must be made in advance before room assignments will be made. Payment must be made by Bank or Cashiers check in U.S. currency, or by U.S. Postal Money Order. No personal checks can be accepted. Refunds cannot be authorized unless the Summer Session class is cancelled. Please make your plans accordingly.


Variable Session/Daily Rates:
A limited number of student housing accommodations are available during the summer.

For accommodations in the North Apartments the rate is $50 per night based on single occupancy.

For traditional housing the rate is $25 per person, per night based on double occupancy and $30 per person, per night based on single occupancy.

Please note these rates include linen.
