Your UCard is your official UMass Amherst campus ID. You’ll need it to access the university library, recreational facilities, and Fine Arts Center. You can also use it as a debit card at on-campus retail food outlets, convenience stores, the University Store, the Textbook Annex, Parking Services, snack and soda vending machines, print stations, and photocopy machines.

Who qualifies for a UCard? You must be registered for credit courses and have an 8-digit campus ID number to get a UCard.

How do I get a UCard? You can buy a UCard for $25, cash or check only, at the UCard Office in the Franklin Dining Commons, room 104. Photo ID (driver’s license, passport, etc.) is required. If you don’t have a photo ID, you’ll need a copy of your birth certificate and social security card.

I’m a distance learning student. Am I eligible for a UCard? Distance learning students who are enrolled in a UMass degree program and would like proof of student status can purchase a non-photo UMass Amherst distance learning ID card for $25. For more information, visit www.umass.edu/ucard.

How can I use my UCard as a debit card? You can open a debit account at the UCard Office when your card is issued.

To make a deposit into your UCard debit account: Make a deposit by credit card into your UCard debit account online at the UCard Web site, over the phone, or by fax. Mail a deposit by check or credit card to the UCard Office. Make a deposit in person at the UCard Office, Campus Center Cashier, or Bursar’s Office. Make a cash deposit at one of the Value Transfer Station machines, located in the W.E.B. Du Bois Library, the LGRC Integrated Science Library, the Campus Center, and the Hamden Convenience Store.

Lost, stolen or damaged cards: Replacement cost for a lost or stolen UCard is $20, payable by cash, check or UCard Debit Account. Replacement for a damaged card is $6 (the damaged card must be turned in).

UCard Office hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. (closed on holidays)
