Continuing & Professional Education (CPE) students may apply to transfer into the university. Can CPE course credits be applied toward a university undergraduate degree? You may apply a maximum of 15 CPE course credits completed prior to matriculation into a degree program toward the 45 residence credits required for graduation. Grades earned in CPE courses will not count toward your grade point average. Credits will be evaluated by Transfer Admissions at the time of admission. There may be restrictions on the application of certain CPE courses toward your undergraduate degree requirements. Please contact the program department for more information on restrictions. Does UMass Amherst accept many transfer students? Transfer students make up nearly one-third of the university’s undergraduate student body. They represent a variety of educational backgrounds and include community college and two-year college graduates, returning students, and students from four-year colleges and universities.
