New student registration takes 3 to 4 days to process; returning student registration takes 2 to 3 days. For more information or to register, click here .  Please register early — online classes fill up quickly.

Faculty

Online graduate programs are primarily taught by UMass Amherst faculty members who hold doctorates or terminal degrees. Undergraduate and noncredit classes may be taught by doctorate-holding faculty, graduate teaching assistants, or qualified adjunct faculty.

Coursework schedule

You can "attend" class and do homework 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, assignments and other time-sensitive homework must be completed within certain time constraints.

Class preview period

During the week before an online class begins, registered students can access the class to:

• View the syllabus
• E-mail the instructor with questions
• Review the learning environment
• Verify that the format fits your learning style

If you decide not to take the class during the preview period, you will receive a complete refund, minus the registration fee. See refund policy.
