To enroll in Summer Thesis/Dissertation: 

Step 1: To enroll, be sure you have a summer enrollment appointment first, by following the navigation:  Main Menu > Enrollment > Summer/Winter/Non degree Enroll Appointment. The term needs to be the correct one for your enrollment.  Read the text, check the box confirming you have read and understand the refund policy, scroll to the bottom of the page, and hit the green ‘Request Enrollment Appointment’ button.

Step 2: Enroll in these credits the same way as in a normal term. (Use the pull down to choose between 1 and 9 credits.)

Step 3: If your department requires department or instructor consent for thesis or dissertation, have your department email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with your name, ID number, and whether the credits are for thesis (699) or dissertation (899).

Step 4: Within one business day, CPE Registration will assign permission in SPIRE, after which you will be able to self-enroll.

Add/Drop for Summer thesis/dissertation credits ends 5 calendar days after the Add/Drop date for Summer Session 1.  After that, you will be unable to self-enroll in SPIRE.

Cost for thesis/dissertation: $195/credit + $47/term registration fee
