Who do I contact if I need course materials or photocopies?

How much notice is needed for photocopying requests?

  • Materials to be photocopied must be dropped off at our office or e-mailed to us at least one day in advance. (Courier service is available for instructors in the School of Education. Contact the school for more information.)

Are there any restrictions on photocopying?

We can only do supplemental photocopying. If you’re planning to use a large quantity of copied material in lieu of or in addition to a textbook, you should prepare a course packet (see Textbooks/Course Packets).

Before submitting materials for photocopying, make sure that:

  • You have copyright permission.
  • Pages are numbered.
  • Materials are legible.

Can I get reimbursed for expenses related to course materials?

We do not reimburse for expenses made outside of Continuing & Professional Education, including services done for you by your academic department. You must make such requests and get approval from our office before any purchase is made.

Audio-Visual Equipment / Recorded Materials

Reminder to all: Please do not leave A/V equipment unattended!

Will there be A/V equipment in my classroom?

Please check your assigned classroom in advance to see if it meets your needs. If the A/V equipment you need is missing, contact AIMS at 413-545-5765 at least one week in advance.

What about overhead projectors?

All classrooms should be equipped with overhead projectors. If your room doesn’t have one, please borrow one from a nearby empty classroom.

My room doesn’t meet my A/V needs. Can I get a different room?

My class is in the SOM Building.

If your class is in the Isenberg School of Management Building, contact the School of Management Reserve Materials at 413-545-9683 for equipment. (If equipment is unavailable through SOM, call AIMS at 413-545-5765.)

My class meets weekends or evenings (after 4:00 pm). How do I get A/V equipment?

You can either:

  • Sign out equipment for the evening/weekend or
  • Have it delivered before 4:00 p.m. to a secure on-campus office and picked up the following morning.

What other resources are available for A/V equipment?

  • Room 1320 of the W.E.B. Du Bois Library is equipped with a VCR. To reserve this room for day or evening courses, call 413-545-5765.

Call AIMS at 413-545-5765 to request videos and other recorded materials at least one week in advance.

What other resources are available for recorded materials?

Check the UMass/Five College film/video library at www.library.umass.edu/services/reserves/formvid.html .
