Sira Berté managed and designed professional courses/programs for Latin America’s premier provider of executive education – Seminarium Internacional – in partnership with top ten U.S. universities.  Additionally, in Chile, she consulted for the UNDP, Ford Foundation, and the Chilean equivalent to the SBA.  Knowledgeable about course design and delivery for adult learners, Sira enjoys a spirit of collaboration with faculty and students.   Business development expertise and an entrepreneurial mindset led her to co-found a Chilean adventure tourism company – UPSCAPE – employing 25 people.  She received a B.A. in Spanish & Latin American Studies (Bowdoin College) and an MBA (University of Maryland/College Park).

Melissa Garrett-Preston joins the Continuing Professional Education team at UMass Amherst after working for the Isenberg Online MBA for the past six years. In her position as an academic advisor, Melissa advised mid-career adult and non-traditional students and contributed to marketing activities and initiatives to improve student experience. The program was recently ranked as the top US online MBA program according to the widely-respected London Financial Times’ rankings. Melissa previously held administrative positions at Smith College and Holyoke Community College and also worked for many years in the health care industry leading public relations and marketing efforts for several hospitals and health systems.
