The state’s only summer-based program of its kind, our “Four Summers Master of Music Education” is tailored specifically to the needs of K-12 teachers. Learn to create outstanding education and performance programs for students at all levels through five-week summer sessions that give you the focused skill-development and flexibility you need. Program Details
Format: Four 5-week sessions, completed over four summers.
Curriculum: The summer curriculum is consistent with that of the regular academic year program and leads to a fully approved UMass Amherst master’s degree. General music education courses and electives focus on improving teachers’ classroom performance and building leadership skills in music activities, both in school settings and in communities.
Admission: Admission requirements are identical to those of the academic-year Master of Music program. Candidates may enroll at any time.
