Meeting client demand in today’s rapidly changing business environment requires CPAs well versed in an expanding range of competencies. Our Master of Science in Accounting program is one of five in New England to be awarded separate national accreditation by the AACSB — a rigorous standard that recognizes our particular strengths in:

Program Details
Degree requirements: The degree requires a minimum of thirty (30) credit hours. Four required core courses (12 credits) are offered exclusively, in-residence on the Amherst campus, during a twelve week summer session. The remaining elective credits are offered primarily online during the fall and spring semesters.
Curriculum: Students engage in individual and group work, academic and field experiences, and the development of communication, research and critical thinking skills. Courses (required courses in bold) include:
- Taxes and Business Decisions
- Financial Statement Analysis
- Financial Accounting Theory and Research
- Stock Analysis and Investment Strategy
- Information Management in the New Economy
- Business and Its Environment
- Professional Responsibilities for Accountants
- Contemporary Issues in Accounting
Certification: Graduates meet the 150-hour education requirement for CPA certification in Massachusetts. Accreditation: The program is fully accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the premier international accrediting body for business programs, assuring you the highest level of academic rigor.
