Travel Information

Since CPE offers a number of resident programs at a number of locations, we offer this guide to help you get where you’re going, with additional resources for travel, lodging, other accommodations.

UMass Amherst Campus

The Robsham Visitors Center offers comprehensive resources to help you plan a trip to Amherst. Please use their site for parking and local lodging information.

UMass Amherst has the 3-diamond rated Hotel UMass located at the heart of our campus, with convenient garage parking, and many eateries rated #1 in campus dining by The Princeton Review!

Amherst Area

Getting to Amherst is easy!

Air

Bradley International Airport (BDL - Hartford/Springfield) is 45 miles to our south and Logan International Airport (BOS - Boston) is 90 miles to the east.

Rail

There is an Amtrak station in Northampton, 8 miles to the west.

Bus

Both airports (and campus) are serviced by Peter Pan Bus and Greyhound, and local PVTA buses provide free (to students and faculty) or low-cost fares in the Amherst area.

Ride-sharing

Uber and Lyft provide on-demand ride-sharing in the Amherst area, in addition to a number of limousine services listed here.
