How to Enroll

This course is the culmination of the Western Massachusetts Writing Project's annual Invitational Summer-Academic Year Institute. It embodies the "teachers teaching teachers" philosophy of the National Writing Project.  Participants will share aspects of their teaching practice in workshop/demonstrations, read current theory and research in self-selected areas, do their own self-directed writing, and participate in writing response groups.  The focus of this culminating course is the completion of a teacher inquiry project, including research and analysis and writing the final project report. Enrollment is by permission of the Western Massachusetts Writing Project and restricted to teachers who participated in the 2017 Summer Leadership Institute. This program fulfills a requirement for the Certificate in the Teaching of Writing.
